Herat–Mashhad road
The main highway runs through the town toward the Iranian border. It is the dominant line on the map and the reason the town exists in its current form.

Eslam Qaleh Map Poster & Print
Eslam Qaleh, also written Islam Qala, is a town in Herat Province at Afghanistan's western border with Iran. It is the country's main crossing on the road between Herat and Mashhad. That role shapes its map: a major highway, customs areas and truck yards give the town a practical, linear form.
The land around it is arid and flat, part of the wide lowland along the Hari River basin. Settlement clusters along the highway and fades quickly into open desert and farmland wherever irrigation reaches. Straight roads and rectangular compounds read clearly against the empty ground.
An Eslam Qaleh map poster is essentially a portrait of a crossing point. One strong route runs across the sheet, with the town gathered around it and a border line nearby. Its restraint is part of the appeal: few lines, each with a clear purpose.

Border crossing
Customs areas and vehicle yards near the frontier appear as large rectangular blocks, very different from ordinary residential streets.
Open plain
Beyond the built strip, the map opens into flat, dry land. The sparse surroundings make the town's few streets stand out sharply.
