Gerāsh Map Poster & Print
Gerāsh lies in the far south of Fars province, in the Larestan region, where the Zagros folds break into long, parallel ridges separated by dry basins. From above, the town sits on one of these flat valley floors, a compact spread of streets and walled plots, with bare slopes rising sharply on either side.
The climate is hot and arid, and settlement here has always depended on careful use of scarce water. The region has strong ties to the Persian Gulf, and many families from Gerāsh and neighbouring Larestan towns have long worked and traded across the water in the Gulf states. On the map, though, the setting is entirely inland and dry.
A Gerāsh map poster shows a town defined by its basin: a dense core, straight newer roads, and dry watercourses fanning out from the mountains. The emptiness around the streets is part of the design, and in Sand or Paper the image takes on the tones of the landscape itself.

Folded ridges
Long, parallel mountain chains run on either side of the basin, their contours creating strong diagonal bands across the edges of the map.
Dry channels
Seasonal watercourses run down from the slopes and fan out across the plain, visible as faint branching lines that are dry for most of the year.
