Delta waterways
Narrow canals and drainage channels cross the area in long straight runs. They trace the lines along which this flat, low-lying land has been farmed and settled.

Jinsha Map Poster & Print
Jinsha lies on the low, level ground of the lower Yangtze region in Jiangsu, near Nantong. Land and water have been managed side by side here for a long time. On a map the town reads as a compact centre, surrounded by a lattice of straight roads and narrow waterways that divide the surrounding land into long rectangular parcels.
This is a delta landscape with no hills to bend the streets. The pattern comes from drainage and irrigation channels, from newer roads laid out on straight alignments, and from the steady outward growth of residential and industrial districts. The older core is denser and less regular. Newer areas show the larger blocks typical of recent development in the region.
A Jinsha map poster shows that layered order: fine threads of canals against the wider strokes of main roads, the knot of the old centre, and the open grid of the plain beyond. In black and white, water and street take on almost equal visual weight.

Compact old core
At the centre, smaller and more irregular streets cluster tightly. This contrasts with the broad, regular blocks of the newer districts growing around it.
Field geometry
Beyond the built-up edge, the plain is divided into narrow rectangular plots. These lines carry the town's grid out into the countryside.
