Kiffa Map Poster & Print
Kiffa is the capital of the Assaba region and one of the larger towns of Mauritania's interior. It lies on the Route de l'Espoir, the long highway linking Nouakchott with the east of the country, and on the map this road runs straight through town, with a loose network of sandy streets and compounds spreading to either side.
The surrounding landscape is Sahelian: dunes, dry valleys and sparse vegetation, with the settlement following the flatter ground between them. Kiffa is known for its traditional glass beads, made from powdered glass and prized by collectors around the world.
A Kiffa map poster reflects a town shaped by trade routes and desert terrain. The main highway provides a strong horizontal line, and the irregular streets and open spaces give a loose, organic texture. It is a distinctive print for those who know Mauritania or the Sahel.

Sandy street grid
Streets and compounds spread out in a loose, partly regular pattern, with open space between the houses reflecting the desert setting.
Surrounding dunes
Sand dunes and dry ground frame the town, so settlement follows the flatter land and ends where the terrain rises.
