Valley base
Hotels and apartments gather tightly on the valley floor at the foot of the lifts. On the poster they form one compact shape, the only real concentration of buildings in the frame.

Las Leñas Map Poster & Print
Las Leñas lies in the Andes of southern Mendoza province, Argentina, in a high valley well away from any major city. The resort was built from scratch in the early 1980s and remains a self-contained cluster of hotels, apartments and lift stations on the valley floor. From above it is a small built area enclosed by steep, bare mountainsides, with a single road leading out along the valley.
Skiers know Las Leñas above all for its steep terrain. The Marte lift reaches high, exposed slopes with long couloirs and off-piste descents that attract experienced skiers from around the world. On a Las Leñas map poster the contour lines crowd tightly on these upper faces, giving the sheet a sense of steepness that contrasts with the calm, compact base.
The nearest town of any size is Malargüe, some distance away across dry, open country, and the drive in underlines how isolated the resort is. In summer the valley becomes a quiet high-mountain landscape of rock and scrub. The map records that remoteness honestly, as a small pocket of settlement set into a vast, largely uninhabited range.

Marte sector
The high lift serving the resort's steepest terrain climbs toward exposed ridges. Dense contours around it show the steepness that gives Las Leñas its reputation among expert skiers.
Valley road
A single road follows the valley in toward the resort. It is the main line connecting the base to the outside world, running through open, dry mountain country.
