Maros Map Poster & Print
Maros is the seat of Maros Regency in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, just north of the city of Makassar. The town sits on a low coastal plain crossed by the Maros River. From above, the river curves through the settlement, and roads and rice fields fan out towards the hills.
East of town, the land rises into one of the most dramatic karst landscapes in Southeast Asia. The limestone hills of Bantimurung–Bulusaraung National Park are known for waterfalls, butterflies and caves. Some of those caves hold hand stencils and painted figures that are among the oldest known rock art in the world. Makassar's main airport also lies within the regency.
A Maros map poster sets a compact, low-lying town against a changing landscape. The winding river and the straight lines of the roads make a clear foreground, while paddy fields and the edge of the karst provide texture. It is a place where geology and deep human history lie very close to ordinary streets.

Karst beyond town
To the east, the ground breaks into steep limestone hills and valleys. Their irregular outlines contrast sharply with the flat, farmed plain around the centre.
Paddy-field plain
Around the built-up area, a fine pattern of rice fields and irrigation lines fills the map with a quiet, even texture.

For people from Maros, or visitors who came for the caves and waterfalls, the map links the town they know to the remarkable landscape next to it. It works equally well as a personal reminder and as a clean piece of design.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example in Bahasa Indonesia. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Order it as a $9 set of HD files or as a printed matte poster.
