Massafra Map Poster & Print
Massafra stands in the province of Taranto, on the limestone slopes that fall from the Murge towards the Gulf of Taranto. Its defining feature is the gravina, a deep ravine that runs straight through the town. From above, the old centre and the newer districts sit on either side of a winding gap, and the map shows clearly how the settlement had to grow around a natural wound in the ground.
The ravines around Massafra are known for their rock-cut churches and cave dwellings, carved into the soft stone over centuries. The old town clings to the edge of the gorge with narrow, irregular lanes, while newer quarters spread in a more regular pattern across the flatter land. The town is also known across Apulia for its carnival, one of the region's longest-running.
A Massafra map poster makes the ravine the centre of the composition. The dense tangle of the historic quarter, the bridges that cross the gap and the wider grid beyond give the print a strong structure. Outside town, fields, olive groves and further gravine run towards the plain and the sea.

Bridges over the gorge
Road bridges link the old quarter with the newer districts, short straight lines that tie the two halves of the town together across the gap.
Old town lanes
The historic centre on the edge of the ravine is a knot of narrow, irregular streets, much denser than the orderly blocks that spread out beyond it.

ག་ཅི་འབད་ Massafra
དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Massafra is a place people remember for its landscape as much as its streets, and the ravine makes its map unmistakable. It suits anyone with Apulian roots or a summer spent between the Murge and the Ionian coast.
You can add a personal title, subtitle and coordinates line, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand echoes the pale limestone of the gravine particularly well.
