Mobārakeh lies south-west of Isfahan on the broad central Iranian plateau, close to the course of the Zayandeh River. The town itself is fairly compact. It has a denser older core, newer blocks of more regular streets, and main roads that run out toward Isfahan and the surrounding farmland.
What makes Mobārakeh stand out on any map is industry. Next to the town is the Mobarakeh Steel complex, widely described as the largest steel producer in Iran. Its sheds, yards, rail sidings and settling ponds cover an area comparable to the town itself. They appear as big geometric blocks set against the finer pattern of homes and fields.

Compact town core
