It is one of the neighbourhoods that has grown quickly as the country's main urban region has expanded. From above, it is a dense, fairly regular pattern of plots and lanes on flat ground.
The streets here are mostly short and close together, many of them unpaved, with a few larger roads carrying traffic towards Serrekunda, Banjul and the coast. Compounds fill the blocks between them.
