Pinsk Map Poster & Print
Pinsk lies in southwestern Belarus, in the heart of Polesia, one of Europe's largest wetland regions. The city stands where the Pina joins the Pripyat. On the map, water is everywhere: winding river courses, oxbow lakes and drainage channels surround the built-up area and divide the flat land around it.
First recorded in the chronicles in 1097, Pinsk has been a river port for most of its history. The embankment in the old centre is lined with its most notable buildings, including the former Jesuit collegium and the Franciscan monastery. For centuries the city was also an important centre of Jewish life in the region.
A Pinsk map poster contrasts the compact historic streets beside the Pina with the wide, looping rivers and the open marshland beyond. The river loops give the composition a fluid, almost hand-drawn quality that sets it apart from most city maps.

River confluence
The Pina meets the Pripyat near the city. Their meandering courses and old oxbows add sweeping curved lines across the lower part of the map.
Polesian wetlands
Marshes and drainage channels surround the urban area. They leave broad open spaces broken by thin water lines, typical of the Polesia landscape.

Pinsk carries meaning for Belarusians and for the many families worldwide whose ancestors came from here, including a large Jewish diaspora. A map is a simple way to keep that place present.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name or an emigration year, and keep the coordinates line or edit it. Choose Classic, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a framed print or download the files.
