Organic lanes
Streets in the centre are narrow and irregular. They have been shaped by generations of building rather than a master plan, and they make a dense, handmade-looking core.

Purāini Map Poster & Print
Purāini lies in eastern Bihar, south of the Ganges, on the wide alluvial plain that covers much of the state. The land here is almost perfectly flat. From above, the town is a compact knot of lanes, with village roads leading outwards through a patchwork of small cultivated fields.
Like many towns in the region, Purāini grew as a local centre for trade and services for the surrounding villages, and its map reflects that role. There is no formal grid. Instead there are organic streets that have built up over time, with the densest area where the main roads meet.
A Purāini map poster brings out the quiet geometry of the Bihar plain. A cluster of streets sits among fields, ponds and village paths, and the pattern shows how closely town and countryside are linked here.

Radiating roads
A few main roads run from the town out to neighbouring villages. On the map they look like spokes crossing the open farmland.
Plains and ponds
The land around the town is flat and cultivated, with occasional ponds and water tanks. It forms a calm background of fields.
