Temple tanks
Ponds and tanks are scattered across the town, many associated with temples. Their irregular outlines are the most distinctive feature of Ratanpur's map.

Ratanpur Map Poster & Print
Ratanpur lies north of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, and for centuries it was the capital of the Kalachuri rulers of the region. Its map is unusual. The town is dotted with a remarkable number of ponds and tanks, and many of them are linked to old temples. The streets bend and branch around the water.
The Mahamaya Temple, dedicated to the goddess Mahamaya, is Ratanpur's best-known site and an important pilgrimage destination, especially during Navratri. Ruins, forts and smaller shrines are spread around the town, and low hills rise along its edges.
A Ratanpur map poster captures a layout shaped by water and devotion rather than by a grid. In black and white, the ponds appear as pale shapes scattered across the page. Lanes weave between them, and the roads towards Bilaspur and the countryside lead away from the centre, creating a composition that feels old and organic.

Mahamaya Temple
The town's main temple complex stands beside water in the older part of town. It is a focal point for pilgrims and a natural anchor for the composition.
Winding lanes
Streets curve around the ponds and between old sites rather than following a grid. This gives the town an organic, finely detailed pattern at poster scale.
