There are planned residential areas with regular streets, open plots still waiting for houses, and large stretches of grassland and farmland between the built-up areas. The road east is the clearest line on the map, and the town is arranged around it.
Ruwa has grown quickly in recent decades as people moved out of the capital to build homes in new suburbs.
