Saint-Avold Map Poster & Print
Saint-Avold is a town in the Moselle department of Lorraine, a short drive from the German border. Its history is closely tied to the coal basin of eastern Lorraine. Mining shaped the surrounding districts for much of the twentieth century and left housing estates and industrial sites that still show on the map.
The town is also home to the Lorraine American Cemetery. It holds more American war dead of the Second World War than any other US cemetery in Europe. Its formal grounds sit on the edge of town, a quiet geometric shape among woods and residential streets.
A Saint-Avold map poster brings these layers together: a compact historic centre, later neighbourhoods built for the mining workforce, and wide areas of forest. A motorway passes nearby, part of the busy corridor towards Saarland. In black and white, the mix of old and planned districts gives the sheet an interesting variety of textures.

American cemetery
The Lorraine American Cemetery appears as a large, carefully ordered landscape on the edge of town. Its symmetrical layout stands out against the surrounding woods.
Forest edges
Woodland presses close to the built-up area on several sides, leaving blank space that frames the streets and the former mining districts.

དོན་དག་ཡོད་པའི་ས་ཁྲ།
Saint-Avold matters to Lorraine mining families and to American visitors paying respects at the cemetery. For both, a map is a restrained way to remember the town without resorting to souvenir imagery.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for instance adding a name or a year of service. The five styles are Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
