The Someș bends
The river loops across the city in broad curves. It divides the map in an elegant way and gives the poster its sense of movement.

Satu Mare Map Poster & Print
Satu Mare lies in the far northwest of Romania, near the borders with Hungary and Ukraine, on the banks of the Someș. On a map, the river is the main feature. It curves across the city in wide bends, with the historic centre on one side and newer districts spreading over both banks.
The centre is arranged around a large square and a few radiating streets. Around them are neighbourhoods of houses, Communist-era apartment blocks and industrial zones. Bridges carry the traffic across the Someș, and the flat plain around the city leaves room for the grid to spread evenly.
A Satu Mare map poster shows a regional capital with a long multicultural heritage. Two of its best-known buildings are the tall Firemen's Tower and the Art Nouveau Dacia Hotel in the main square. On the poster, the river bends and the dense centre make for a clear, graceful composition.

River bridges
Several bridges connect the two banks. They appear as fine lines stitching the city together over the water.
