Stallings is a town in Union County, North Carolina, on the southeastern edge of the Charlotte metropolitan area. It grew quickly from a rural crossroads into a suburban community, and its map shows that change clearly. Rather than a grid, the streets form a series of neighbourhoods, each with curving roads, loops and cul-de-sacs branching from a few main routes.
US Highway 74 runs through the town, carrying traffic between Charlotte and Monroe, with shops and services along much of its length. The Monroe Expressway, a toll road, begins nearby. Away from these roads, residential areas are interspersed with woodland, creeks and parks, which gives the town a more open feel than its closeness to the city might suggest.
