Galaat el Andeless Map Poster & Print
Galaat el Andeless, also written Kalaat el-Andalous, lies in the Ariana Governorate of northern Tunisia, on the flat lowland near the mouth of the Medjerda, the country's longest river. From above, the town has a compact centre of streets and low houses, surrounded by irrigated fields, drainage canals and the open wetland country that stretches toward the coast.
As its name suggests, the town is linked to Andalusia: it was settled in the early seventeenth century by Moriscos expelled from Spain, who founded several communities in the Medjerda valley and around Tunis. The low plain around it is shaped by the river and by farming, and on a map the fields and waterways form broad, soft patterns around the settlement.
A Galaat el Andeless map poster suits people from the town and the Ariana region, and anyone interested in the Andalusian heritage of northern Tunisia. The simple layout, with a compact centre surrounded by open land and water, gives the print a calm, spacious quality, and the long name sits well as a title.

Compact centre
Streets cluster tightly in the middle of the settlement, forming a small, dense core that stands out clearly against the open fields on every side.
Canals and fields
Irrigation and drainage channels divide the surrounding farmland into long parcels, adding straight lines that contrast with the softer curves of the river.
