The Caldeira
The island's volcanic crater forms a distinct rounded feature in the southeast. Roads climb its sides, and a tunnel through the rim leads to the interior.

Graciosa Island Map Poster & Print
Graciosa is the northernmost island of the central group in the Azores, and one of the smallest and lowest in the archipelago. Its outline is compact and rounded, and most of the land is gentle, divided into fields and vineyards by stone walls. The main relief is a caldera in the southeast, a broad crater that dominates that end of the island.
Inside the caldera is the Furna do Enxofre, a large lava cave with a lake at the bottom, reached by a spiral stone staircase built inside a tower. The island has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve since 2007. Its old windmills, with their distinctive red domed tops, are still a familiar sight across the landscape.
A Graciosa Island map poster shows the orderly spread of roads and villages across the flatter north of the island and the circle of the caldera to the southeast. Santa Cruz da Graciosa, the main town, sits on the northeast coast, its streets arranged around small ponds. The composition is balanced and quiet, with nothing crowding the sheet.

Santa Cruz da Graciosa
The main town lies on the northeast coast. Its compact streets and squares, set close to the harbour, form the densest area of detail on the map.
Patchwork fields
Across the lower ground, roads and tracks divide the land into small parcels. This gives much of the island a fine, even texture, quite unlike its steeper Azorean neighbours.

چرا Graciosa Island
نقشه‌ای با معنا
Graciosa suits people who prefer islands at a slower pace, or who have family roots there. Its rounded shape and calm interior make an easy, balanced picture. It also sits well beside São Jorge, Terceira and other Azorean maps if you are collecting the archipelago.
Edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line to name the island, a village or a date. Sand and Paper give a soft finish, while Classic black & white, Noir and Blueprint are sharper. Download the $9 HD files in six sizes, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
