The river corridor
The Medellín River runs along the valley floor with the highway and metro line alongside it. Together they form a strong band across the map that anchors everything around it.

La Estrella Map Poster & Print
La Estrella sits at the southern end of the Aburrá Valley, part of the metropolitan area that grew around Medellín. On a map the valley floor is densely built, with the Medellín River, the highways and the metro line running along it. Toward the west the ground climbs steeply, and the urban blocks break up into winding roads and scattered housing on the mountainside.
The municipality is one of the older settlements in the valley, and its original centre sits above the valley floor. La Estrella is also the southern terminus of the Medellín Metro's Line A, so the town is directly connected to the rest of the metropolitan area by rail.
A La Estrella map poster captures the edge of a metropolis. The valley floor carries the dense, linear infrastructure, and the slopes show looser, curving streets. In monochrome, that shift from flat ground to mountainside is the defining feature of the composition.

Metro terminus
La Estrella station marks the southern end of Metro Line A. The rail line appears as a clean straight stroke that ties the town to the rest of the valley.
Mountain slopes
West of the centre the terrain rises sharply. Streets start to zigzag and thin out, and the map moves from a dense urban pattern to open, curving lines.
