From above, Ozoir-la-Ferrière reads as a clearing. Southeast of Paris in Seine-et-Marne, the town sits inside large tracts of woodland, and on a monochrome map the forest shows up as broad empty areas pressing in on the built-up area. Inside that edge, lanes loop and branch the way suburban streets do, forming a dense, rounded patchwork very different from the straight lines of the old farm plateau.
The railway gives the plan its clearest straight line. The RER E line to Tournan runs across the commune, and the station area pulls the streets towards it, so the older core and the newer housing seem to line up along it.
