Rebuilt centre
The historic core, rebuilt after 1945, forms a compact cluster of streets at the heart of the map, and the surviving town gate marks its older layout.

Ang mapa
Dülmen Map Poster & Print
Dülmen lies in the western Münsterland, in flat, open country of fields, hedgerows and scattered farmsteads. From above, the town has a clear centre where the old core once stood, ringed by later residential districts and crossed by the railway lines that meet here. The land is so level that roads run in long, calm lines, and the map has an even, measured quality.
The centre was almost entirely destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt afterwards, though a few older structures survive, including the Lüdinghauser Tor gate. Dülmen is widely known for the wild horses of the Merfelder Bruch, a herd that has lived for centuries in a protected area west of town. The religious mystic Anna Katharina Emmerick also lived and died here.
A Dülmen map poster brings out the quiet structure of a Westphalian market town: the compact middle, the roads radiating toward neighbouring towns, the rail corridors cutting across, and the parkland and woodland at its edges. In black and white, the gentle contrast between town and countryside becomes the whole story, calm and well ordered.

Railway junction
Several rail lines meet in Dülmen, and their long, straight tracks cut across the town and give the drawing strong diagonal accents.
Green edges
Parkland, woods and farmland surround the built-up area, and the Merfelder Bruch wild horse reserve lies out in the countryside to the west.
