Branching lanes
Narrow lanes leave the main roads and wander between houses and groves. They create a fine, organic web across the sheet.

Ang mapa
Edaicode Map Poster & Print
Edaicode is in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, near the border with Kerala at the southern tip of the Indian peninsula. From above, it does not look like a compact town. Houses and lanes spread across green countryside, and roads link clusters of homes rather than dividing a single dense core.
This part of India is lush and closely settled. Coconut palms, plantations and small fields fill the spaces between buildings, and the Western Ghats rise to the north and east. Lanes curve with the land and property lines, so the street network grows irregularly outward instead of following a plan.
An Edaicode map poster shows this dispersed pattern well. A few main roads carry the structure, and a fine web of minor lanes branches off them to reach homes spread through the greenery. The result is an open, delicate composition rather than a solid urban mass.

Main road spine
A few principal roads run through the area and connect it to neighbouring towns. They give the dispersed settlement a clear structure.
Green spacing
Plantations and gardens separate clusters of homes. This leaves generous open space and a light, airy texture on the poster.

Bakit Edaicode
Isang mapang may kahulugan
For families from Kanyakumari district, including many who now live far away, this map is a quiet link to home and its lanes. It also works as a calm, abstract line drawing.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name in the title. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It is available as a $9 HD download.
