Ang mapa
Neukirchen-Vluyn Map Poster & Print
Neukirchen-Vluyn lies on the Lower Rhine, west of Moers, in the district of Wesel. As the double name suggests, the town grew from two separate places, Neukirchen and Vluyn. On a map you can still see both centres, each with its own cluster of streets, joined by later housing across the flat ground between them.
In the twentieth century, coal mining shaped the town. Housing estates for miners were laid out in orderly rows, and the former colliery site left a clear mark on the landscape. These planned districts look quite different from the older, more irregular village lanes.
A Neukirchen-Vluyn map poster shows this mix well: two older cores, geometric settlement blocks, green spaces and the open Lower Rhine countryside all around. It reads as a town assembled in stages, which is how it actually came about.

Mining-era estates
Planned housing from the coal era appears as regular rows and small symmetrical layouts, which stand out against the organic village streets.
Lower Rhine farmland
Around the town, the landscape is flat and open, crossed by country roads and field lines that give the poster wide, calm margins.
