Péruwelz lies in the province of Hainaut, right on the border with France. From above, the town is a web of streets converging on a central square, with long roads leading toward neighboring villages and across the frontier. To the north, a canal cuts a straight line through the landscape.
South of the center is Bon-Secours, a district built around the basilica of Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours, a pilgrimage church near the border.
