Converging roads
Several main roads meet in the town, giving the map a clear star-shaped focus. They show Tharād's role as a hub for the surrounding villages.

Ang mapa
Tharād Map Poster & Print
Tharād is a town in the Banaskantha area of northern Gujarat, not far from the Rajasthan border and the desert country to the west. The land is flat and dry for much of the year. From above, the town forms a tight core of streets and markets, surrounded by open fields crossed by long, straight rural roads.
The town is a trading centre for a wide area of farms and grazing land, where crops depend on irrigation and the seasonal rains and livestock has long mattered. The map reflects that role. Main roads meet at the centre, and the land around town is divided into large fields with villages scattered between them.
A Tharād map poster brings out the relationship between a compact town and the vast, level land around it. In black and white, the crowded streets at the centre and the sparse lines of the countryside create a strong sense of scale. The result is a simple, graphic composition with plenty of open space.

Compact centre
The core is a close mesh of narrow lanes and dense blocks. Markets and older houses are packed tightly together within a small area.
Open plains
Beyond the edge of town, broad fields and sparse tracks stretch across flat, semi-arid country. They leave generous white space around the built area.
