Dense town core
Housing is packed closely together, with narrow lanes between blocks. From above this forms a fine, intricate texture that contrasts sharply with the open farmland around it.

As Sāḩil Map Poster & Print
As Sāḩil is a town in Asyut Governorate in Upper Egypt, where settlement follows the narrow green strip of the Nile valley. From above, the pattern is typical of the valley: dense housing on a compact footprint, surrounded by cultivated fields and crossed by canals and roads that run roughly north to south with the river.
Life in this part of Egypt has depended on the Nile and its irrigation network for millennia. Farmland is valuable, so towns tend to stay tightly built rather than sprawling, and the edge between houses and fields is often sharp. That makes the outline of the town clear even at a small scale.
An As Sāḩil map poster captures that density and precision. The built-up core prints as a fine, tightly packed texture. Around it, long straight canal lines and field tracks create a calm, almost striped background. The result is a minimalist picture of how land, water and settlement fit together in the valley.

Irrigation canals
Canals and drainage channels cut through the surrounding fields in long, mostly straight lines. On the poster they add a quiet rhythm and show how the valley is farmed.
Valley orientation
Main roads and waterways broadly follow the direction of the Nile. The whole map has a gentle north–south grain that reflects the river's influence on the landscape.
