Central grid
The town centre is built on a regular grid of blocks around a main square, a legacy of colonial-era planning that stands out clearly in black and white.

Astrea Map Poster & Print
Astrea is a municipality in the Cesar Department of northern Colombia, in the lowlands between the Magdalena River and the mountains further east. The town centre, seen from above, follows the pattern of many Colombian towns founded in the Spanish tradition: a grid of blocks around a central square, with streets that loosen and become irregular towards the edges.
The land around it is flat and mostly open, with large farms and pastures typical of the region's cattle economy. Water plays a part in this landscape, where streams and low-lying wet areas appear across the plains. On a map, the neat town grid sits in a wide field of lines marking farm tracks and property boundaries, with lots of empty space in between.
An Astrea map poster suits people from the town and families who have moved to Valledupar, Barranquilla, Bogotá or abroad but still think of it as home. Its orderly centre and open surroundings make a balanced, calm composition that works in any room.

Loosening edges
Towards the outskirts, the grid breaks into irregular streets and newer additions, showing how the town has grown outwards over time.
Lowland plains
Wide flat farmland surrounds the town, crossed by tracks and water channels, and gives the poster plenty of quiet space around the settlement.
