Streets shaped by slope
The town's streets do not follow a planned grid. They curve with the contours and bunch together on the flatter ground, so the centre has a dense, uneven outline.

Baohe Map Poster & Print
Baohe is a small town in Chongqing, the vast municipality in southwestern China best known for its steep terrain. On a map it reads the way many towns here do. A modest built-up core sits wherever the land flattens enough to hold it, and the streets bend to follow the ground. They rarely run straight for long, because the hills decide their direction first.
This part of Chongqing lies on the eastern edge of the Sichuan Basin. Long, parallel ridges run roughly northeast to southwest, with farmed valleys between them. The Baohe map poster brings that pattern forward. The town's cluster of lanes is surrounded by the fine lines of rural roads that climb and switch back, and by small watercourses that thread the low ground toward larger rivers.
Printed in black and white, a place like Baohe becomes a study in how settlement adapts to relief. There are no grand boulevards or ring roads here, only a close, irregular weave at the centre that loosens into scattered paths and hamlets. For anyone with family roots in the Chongqing countryside, it is a quiet and precise record of home.

Ridge and valley country
Around Baohe the land follows the long parallel folds typical of eastern Chongqing. From above, roads and fields line up with the valleys, which gives the wider map its direction.
Threads of water
Small streams wind through the low ground and feed the wider river network of the region. On the poster they appear as thin, meandering lines that soften the road pattern.
