Barnes Map Poster & Print
Barnes sits in south-west London, on the south bank of the Thames, where the river makes a large bend. On a map the water nearly surrounds the district on three sides, giving it a clear, rounded outline. Hammersmith Bridge crosses to the north, and a railway bridge crosses near Chiswick.
Inside the bend, the map is unusually green for London. Barnes Common spreads across the middle, and to the north the London Wetland Centre occupies former reservoirs, now a pattern of lakes, ponds and paths. The village centre, with its high street and pond, sits between them, while the long straight road of Castelnau leads north toward Hammersmith.
A Barnes map poster clearly shows the Thames loop and its contents: water outlines, the common, the wetlands and a modest network of residential streets. The stretch of river along Barnes is part of the course of the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, which gives this bend an audience every spring.

London Wetland Centre
Former reservoirs have become a network of lakes and reed beds. From above, the water bodies form a distinct cluster of irregular shapes.
Barnes Common
A wide open space in the centre of the district separates groups of streets, leaving a large calm area in the middle of the map.

למה Barnes
מפה עם משמעות
Barnes is a place people become attached to: the riverside walks, the common, the village pond. A poster of the Thames loop keeps that sense of an enclosed village within London in view.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps marking a Boat Race or a first home, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The river line reads well in every style.
