Concepcion is a municipality in the province of Tarlac, in the flat agricultural heart of Central Luzon. The map shows a small, dense poblacion with a handful of roads running out to barangays scattered across a wide plain. Most of the frame is open land, divided into the irregular patchwork of rice paddies, farm tracks and waterways that define this part of the island.
The town is widely known as the birthplace of Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino Jr., the senator whose assassination in 1983 became a turning point in Philippine history. Beyond that national association, Concepcion remains a working farm town, and its layout reflects it: homes strung along the main roads, clusters of settlement at crossings, and fields reaching right up to the edge of the streets.
