Jomvu Map Poster & Print
Jomvu lies on the mainland west of Mombasa Island and is one of the constituencies of Mombasa County. From above it is a place shaped by corridors. The main road to Nairobi and the railway lines leave the coast through this area, and neighbourhoods have grown along them in dense, informal patterns that fill the land between the routes and the water.
Tidal creeks reach inland here from the Indian Ocean, and their mangrove-fringed shores give the map an irregular, branching edge. The port and industrial activity of the Mombasa area spill into the surrounding districts, and many residents work along the transport corridor. It is a working part of the city, less visited than the old town but essential to how Mombasa runs.
A Jomvu map poster shows this edge of Mombasa honestly. The strong lines of road and rail cut across the frame, residential streets gather in tight clusters around them, and the creek water spreads out as calm, open shapes. It is a specific, personal map, best suited to those who know this part of the coast firsthand.
