La Castellana is a municipality in Negros Occidental, on the island of Negros in the central Philippines. It sits on the lower western slopes of Mount Kanlaon, the island's highest peak and an active volcano. On a map, the town centre forms a small, orderly grid. Around it, the land rises gently toward the mountain, crossed by farm roads and streams running down from the heights.
Like much of Negros Occidental, the area is known for sugarcane, and the fields around the town follow the slope in wide patches.
