Melong Map Poster & Print
Melong is a town in the Moungo department of Cameroon's Littoral region, on the rising ground where the lowlands around Douala give way to the western highlands. On a map it follows the main road that continues north beyond Nkongsamba. Most of the built-up area is strung along that route, and side streets branch out into the surrounding slopes.
The country around Melong is farmland, with coffee, cocoa and food crops grown on fertile volcanic soil, and farm tracks winding between fields and small settlements. The Manengouba massif rises to the west, and the ground changes height quickly. That is why so many of the town's roads curve with the contours of the hills instead of running straight.
A Melong map poster portrays a working town rather than a monument: a central road, a market area, a scatter of quarters and the paths that link them to the fields. In black and white, the pattern of roads across the hills becomes graphic and restful, a record of a place many families still call home wherever they now live.

Hillside streets
Side roads bend with the terrain instead of following a grid, giving the outer quarters a loose, organic pattern that contrasts with the straight trunk road.
Farmland margins
Around the town, fields and plantations appear as open space crossed by thin tracks. This rural detail frames a small town well on paper and shows how closely it is tied to the land.
