Historic town core
The old centre of the former princely capital appears as a compact web of narrow lanes, clearly denser than the planned roads of the newer districts around it.

Pālanpur Map Poster & Print
Pālanpur is the headquarters of Banaskantha district in northern Gujarat and was once the capital of a princely state ruled by the Lohani nawabs. On a map the older town is a dense core of lanes, while newer residential areas and wide roads extend outward across flat ground. To the north-east, the land begins to rise toward the Aravalli hills.
The town lies on the main railway between Ahmedabad and Delhi, and the track and its yards make a strong straight line through the map. Pālanpur is also known far beyond Gujarat as the home region of the Palanpuri Jain families who became prominent in the diamond trade in Mumbai and Antwerp.
A Pālanpur map poster brings together the old centre, the railway and the open country around it. In black and white the dense lanes of the historic town stand out clearly from the looser layout of later neighbourhoods, and the print works as a quiet portrait of a place with a long reach.

The Ahmedabad–Delhi line and its tracks cross the town in a long straight stroke, dividing the map and giving it a strong structural line.
Toward the Aravallis
North-east of town the flat plain begins to rise into hills, where roads thin out and follow the terrain.
