Rehnān lies on the flat plain on the western side of Isfahan, where the city's outer districts meet older farmland. From above the pattern is fine-grained: narrow lanes, closely packed courtyard houses and long, thin parcels that follow the lines of old irrigation. Wider modern roads cut through this texture and link the area to central Isfahan to the east.
The Zayandeh Rud, the river that has shaped Isfahan for centuries, passes close by on its way into the city. Around it the land is divided into orchards and fields in narrow strips, a layout that makes the map read almost like woven cloth. Where newer housing has spread, the strips turn into regular blocks without losing their original direction.
