Sadabe is a rural commune in the Analamanga region, in Madagascar's central highlands north-east of Antananarivo. It does not look like a town in the usual sense. From above, it is a scattering of small settlements linked by tracks and minor roads, spread across rolling hills and low valleys typical of the high plateau.
The shape of the map comes from the land. Settlements tend to sit on higher ground, while the valley bottoms, in this part of Madagascar, are commonly given over to rice cultivation.
