Tiruvattār lies in Kanyakumari district at the southern tip of Tamil Nadu, close to the Kerala border. On a map its most striking trait is water. Rivers curve around the settlement on three sides, so the town reads almost as a peninsula of streets set within a bend. The town is best known for the Adikesava Perumal Temple, one of the 108 Divya Desams revered in the Sri Vaishnava tradition.
