Hill-following roads
Local roads bend around the low hills instead of running straight. They give the map loose, flowing lines that are typical of the Sichuan Basin countryside.

Wofo Map Poster & Print
Wofo lies in the western part of Chongqing municipality, where the steep terrain of the city proper gives way to the lower, rounded hills of the Sichuan Basin. The landscape here is agricultural and heavily worked, with fields and ponds fitted between ridges and small valleys. The town itself is a compact cluster at the meeting point of local roads.
Places like Wofo show a side of Chongqing that most maps of the megacity leave out. Beyond the high-rise districts along the Yangtze and Jialing, the municipality is largely rural, a patchwork of market towns connected by winding roads. Its settlements follow the contours of the land rather than a planned grid.
A Wofo map poster reduces that landscape to its essential lines: roads curving around hills, a dense core of streets, and the scattered pattern of the surrounding countryside. Printed in black and white, the organic shapes read almost like a drawing. It is a modest map, but a very personal one for people with roots in the area.

Compact town core
The built-up centre is small and tightly packed, a clear knot of streets that stands out against the open farmland around it.
Farmland patchwork
Fields, ponds and small hamlets fill the space between ridges. At poster scale they create a fine, irregular texture around the town.
