Harbour quays
Straight piers and reclaimed port land extend into the bay. Their sharp rectangular edges contrast with the natural curves of the coast.

Fangchenggang Map Poster & Print
Fangchenggang lies on the coast of Guangxi in southern China, facing the Beibu Gulf, also known as the Gulf of Tonkin. It is a working port, and from above water dominates its shape. There is a long bay, narrow peninsulas and reclaimed harbour land with straight quays, along with newer districts laid out on wide, regular boulevards.
The prefecture-level city also includes Dongxing, which faces Vietnam across the Beilun River, and the nearby coast is known for its mangroves and beaches. The urban core itself is fairly young and grew quickly after the port was developed in the late twentieth century. That growth shows in the map's broad avenues and large planned blocks.
A Fangchenggang map poster is above all a portrait of a coastline. The sea fills much of the frame, the harbour basins add hard geometric edges, and the streets inland form an orderly network. In monochrome, the interplay of land and water makes a striking, almost graphic composition.

Bays and inlets
The coastline folds into sheltered bays and narrow headlands, so land and water interlock across the poster in an irregular, highly legible pattern.
Planned districts
Newer parts of the city follow wide, straight boulevards with generous blocks, the result of fast recent growth on open ground near the coast.
