Flörsheim am Main lies on the north bank of the Main, roughly halfway between Frankfurt and the river's meeting with the Rhine at Mainz. The old town sits close to the water, and the baroque church of St. Gallus stands near the riverbank, a familiar sight from the opposite shore. From above, the river forms a clean edge along the south of the town.
Beyond the old core, the town extends north into newer residential areas and outlying districts such as Weilbach and Wicker. Wicker, with its vineyards, sits at the eastern edge of the Rheingau wine region.
