Sheridan Map Poster & Print
Sheridan lies in northern Wyoming, on the plains just east of the Bighorn Mountains, where the forks of Goose Creek come together. On a map, the creek's winding, tree-lined course runs through the town and breaks up its otherwise regular street grid. Interstate 90 curves around the eastern side, and the mountains rise steeply to the west.
The town was named after the Civil War general Philip Sheridan. Its Main Street keeps a long row of historic storefronts, and the Sheridan Inn, associated with Buffalo Bill Cody, is a well-known landmark. Every summer the WYO Rodeo draws crowds, keeping alive the ranching culture that shaped the region.
A Sheridan map poster brings those elements together: the ordered grid of the town, the winding line of the creek and the open country leading to the mountains. It is a map of a real Western town, with the setting's scale and character but no invented romance.
