Belén Gualcho is a town in the Ocotepeque Department of western Honduras, high in the mountains on the western side of Celaque National Park. The park protects cloud forest and the highest peak in the country, and the town is one of the approaches used by hikers heading into the massif.
From above, the town is a small, dense cluster of streets on sloping ground, arranged around a central square and church. Because the land is steep, the streets are short and sometimes bend, and the edge of town quickly gives way to farmland, coffee plots and forested ravines.
