Castel Maggiore Map Poster & Print
Castel Maggiore lies just north of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna, on the flat land of the Po plain. It is closely linked to the city, with roads and a railway line running directly into Bologna. On a map its streets form a continuous extension of the metropolitan area before the land opens into fields.
The Canale Navile, the historic waterway that once connected Bologna with the Po river network, passes through the area. Its course is marked by old locks and small bridges. The town's layout mixes a central core along the main road north with residential neighbourhoods, industrial areas and parks, and the Reno river flows a short distance to the west.
A Castel Maggiore map poster presents a place defined by its flat landscape and its lines of movement, road, rail and canal all heading north from Bologna. The absence of relief makes those routes especially clear. Surrounding fields give the drawing a calm, open border, and the town remains readable at small scale.
