Cuité is a municipality in the Curimataú area of Paraíba, in the semi-arid interior of northeastern Brazil. The town sits on elevated ground, which gives it milder temperatures than the lowlands around it. It also hosts a campus of the Federal University of Campina Grande, which brings students from across the region.
On the map, the town centre is a dense cluster of blocks that follows the shape of the high ground. The streets are more regular in the centre and looser towards the edges. Beyond them, the landscape opens into caatinga and farmland crossed by roads, tracks and small reservoirs.
