Dashi lies in the western part of Chongqing municipality, in the rolling hills at the eastern edge of the Sichuan Basin. The land here is broken into small ridges and valleys, and the town's streets fit around them, with roads running along the lower ground and bending wherever a slope interrupts them.
Around the built-up core, the map shows a close patchwork of terraced fields, ponds and scattered farmhouses typical of the basin's countryside. Local roads wind between them and link Dashi to neighbouring towns across the uneven ground.
