Peninsulas and bays
Large peninsulas extend from the main body of the island, separated by wide bays. The outline reads as a series of lobes rather than a single solid shape.

Ellef Ringnes Island Map Poster & Print
Ellef Ringnes Island is one of the Sverdrup Islands in Nunavut, in the far north of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. It takes its name from Ellef Ringnes, one of the Norwegian brewers who funded Otto Sverdrup’s expedition around 1900. Neighbouring Amund Ringnes Island honours his brother. No one lives on the island today, and it is known mainly to scientists, pilots and people who follow Arctic exploration.
On a map the island is broad but irregular, with several large peninsulas and wide, shallow bays between them. The land is low, and the interior is drawn mostly in the fine lines of streams draining toward the coast. Geologists know the island for its salt domes, where ancient salt has pushed up through the surrounding rock. They make it a reference site for Arctic geology.
For decades a weather station operated at Isachsen, on the western side of the island. It was one of the joint Canadian and American stations set up in the High Arctic after the Second World War. An Ellef Ringnes Island map poster carries that history quietly. It is a spare, open design where coastline and water hold the composition together.

Stream-drawn interior
With no roads or settlements, the interior is described by small streams and valleys running to the sea. They form a delicate texture on an otherwise open surface.
Neighbouring islands
Amund Ringnes lies to the east across a channel, and its coastline can edge into the frame. It places Ellef Ringnes within its archipelago rather than alone.

Yon kat ki gen sans
Some people collect maps of places they have been. Others hang maps of places that feel almost unreachable. This one belongs to the second kind: a quiet image for readers of polar history, for geologists, and for anyone who has worked at a northern station.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to set. You can keep the island’s name, mark a field season or add a personal date. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
