Goose Creek is in Berkeley County, South Carolina, in the suburban belt that extends north from Charleston. On a map, it follows a pattern common across the American South-east. A few main highways carry traffic, and planned subdivisions branch off them with curving streets, loops and cul-de-sacs, often arranged around ponds and patches of woodland.
