Ishikawa is a town in the southern part of Fukushima Prefecture, in the western foothills of the Abukuma Highlands. The map shows a compact town centre on the valley floor. The town is well known among mineral collectors in Japan. Pegmatite deposits in the surrounding hills have produced a wide range of mineral specimens, and the area is often cited in Japanese mineralogy.
