Junlian Map Poster & Print
Junlian is a county in Yibin, in the south of Sichuan province, where the edge of the Sichuan Basin rises into steeper country toward the border with Yunnan. The county town lies in a valley, and its map is shaped by the terrain rather than by any imposed grid.
Streets follow the valley floor and the river that runs through it, bending where the hills close in. Newer districts extend along available flat land, sometimes in narrow strips, while roads leaving town climb with switchbacks into the surrounding slopes. The result is an elongated, organic layout.
A Junlian map poster captures this close relationship between town and topography. Built-up areas appear as a dense ribbon, and the white space on either side reflects the hills that limit where the town can grow. It is a portrait of a mountain county seat in southern Sichuan, compact and shaped by its setting.
