Longgu sits on the broad, flat plain of northwestern Jiangsu, close to the border with Shandong. From above, the landscape is almost entirely man-made geometry: straight roads, irrigation channels and field boundaries crossing at right angles, with villages scattered as small clusters between them. The town itself forms a denser node where several roads meet.
